Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Receipts (“the App”), published by Yusuf Emirhan (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use the App on iPhone or iPad. The short version: your receipts stay on your device or in your own iCloud account, and we do not run servers that receive them.

Summary

• We do not collect, see, or sell your receipts, photos, or personal information.
• All scanning, text recognition, and search happen on your device.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
• The optional Receipts Cloud subscription stores your library in your iCloud Drive, operated by Apple, not by us.
• Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and validated through RevenueCat using an anonymous identifier.

Information stored on your device

The App stores the following on your device only, in its private app container:

• Receipt images you scan, PDFs you import, and photos of purchased items you add.
• Text recognized from those pages, along with details you enter or confirm: title, merchant, purchase date, amount, currency, item names, notes, and appearance tags.
• App settings and the sync state of your library.

This data is processed with Apple’s on-device frameworks (Vision, VisionKit, PDFKit, and Foundation Models) and never leaves your device unless you export it or turn on iCloud backup. Deleting the App deletes this local data.

Apple Intelligence

When Apple Intelligence is available and enabled on your device, the App uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models to suggest receipt details from recognized text and to interpret natural-language searches. This processing happens on your device. The App does not send content to remote AI services. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, the App falls back to on-device text recognition, manual entry, and keyword search.

iCloud backup and sync (Receipts Cloud)

If you subscribe to Receipts Cloud, the App stores a copy of your receipt archives in the iCloud Drive container for the App, tied to the Apple Account signed in on your device. Apple stores and transmits this data under the Apple Privacy Policy and your iCloud terms. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

You can stop syncing by cancelling the subscription or by disabling iCloud Drive for Receipts in iOS Settings. Deleting a receipt in the App also removes it from iCloud. You can remove all App data from iCloud in Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Purchases and RevenueCat

In-app subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment details; we never receive them.

To confirm whether a subscription is active, the App uses the RevenueCat SDK. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated app user identifier, App Store receipt and transaction data, your device type, iOS version, App version, locale, and IP address for the request. This information is used solely to validate purchases and unlock the subscription. It is not linked to your name, email, or receipts, and it is not used for tracking or advertising. RevenueCat processes this data as our service provider under the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Data we do not collect

The App contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no user accounts. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or identifiers for advertising. Aggregated, anonymous crash and usage statistics may be shared with us by Apple only if you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings.

Data sharing

We do not sell or rent any data. We do not share your data with third parties, except that Apple (App Store, iCloud) and RevenueCat (purchase validation) process the limited data described above to provide those services.

Data retention and deletion

• Local data remains on your device until you delete receipts in the App or uninstall the App.
• iCloud data remains in your iCloud account until you delete receipts, remove the App’s iCloud data in iOS Settings, or delete your iCloud account.
• RevenueCat retains purchase records for as long as needed to manage the subscription and meet legal obligations.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your personal data, most requests can be fulfilled directly by you on your device or in your iCloud account. If you believe we hold information about you, or you have any question about this policy, contact us and we will respond promptly. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected in the App’s App Store listing and on this page.
